Post-Fall Wardrobe Series, FINALE

The end of our fashionable journey is finally here :(
I can’t help but have mixed feelings. But in good news, I’ll be starting a vlog and posting some Youtube videos for the month of December! Yaaaay.

For the finale of the Post-Fall Wardrobe Series, I resorted to a casual look (also known as a Canadian Tux) for a slight lunch date with some of my linesisters. Yesterday’s weather was practically weatherless so it was sort of difficult to pinpoint a look for the day. Ultimately, I opted for one of my vintage denim shirts, a pair of chambray pants from URBN, and a pair of my favorite block sandals from URBN. The look was super functional and I had a great time!

Tip: Take advantage of weatherless days and sport some of your favorite pieces! You never know when another pleasant day will come.

Post-Fall Wardrobe Series, Part 3

Welcome back everyone. My favorite time of the week is almost making its debut and I am so pleased. As I reflect on yesterday's photos, I can't help but feel like a character from Grease :)

Post-Fall Wardrobe Series, Part 2

Welcome back guys! I'm beginning to really appreciate this hot Atlanta weather. Anyone who knows me understands that I love my (non-Birkenstock) slide-in sandals and yesterday I had the opportunity to rock them. I was also feeling creative yesterday and cut slits in a pair of some of my favorite black H&M pants. Not too bad for a starter, huh? I just couldn't allow myself to pay $40 for a manufactured pair. I topped off my look with a thrifted silk top, cardigan, and a hat.

Tip: Try creating trendy pieces with items that you already have! You may be surprised with your final results and save some cash. However, be sure to practice firsthand.

Post-Fall Wardrobe Series, Part 1

I'm so excited to be blogging right now! Between cramming for finals and packing to return home, I've been absolutely deprived of my daily fashion fix. In order to satisfy my craving, I decided to feature a Post-Fall Wardrobe Series. Initially, I wanted to create a Winter Wardrobe Series, but the Atlanta weather wouldn't allow it (inserts sad face.)

Hey guys! In order to effectively gear up for my final exams I'm going to take a brief hiatus from the blog. I will still update my Instagram regularly. Before my break, the Winter Wardrobe Series will be posted!

Happy Examing,
Love you guys & Stay Cultured!

My Friday Favorite, 2014 Forest Hills Drive

Cole World

Rapper J.Cole bared great news for music fans this week by announcing the release date of his upcoming album, '2014 Forest Hills Drive.' By watching the rapper's 7:15 promo video, it can be inferred that the album will be one of true transparency, which is uncommon for J.Cole. '2014 Forest Hills Drive' is scheduled to make its anticipated debut Dec.9, and I can hardly wait.

In a heartfelt statement via the rapper's Facebook page, Cole stated, "What up? My New Album is finished. It's called 2014 Forest Hills Drive and it's very special to me. It's available everywhere on 12/9. This time I'm releasing no singles, just the album. See you in 3 weeks. Thank you for the love and support."

Since his announcement, Cole made a surprise appearance at a fan's home in Dallas and allowed her to listen to the entire album. Read more here (I'm so jealous.)
But no worries, to my knowledge, fans can sign up for a private listening party at Cole's home in North Carolina.  I signed up earlier in the week, so keep your fingers crossed.

The album is also available for pre-order on iTunes.

My Cole Countdown is in full effect!

What-I-Wore Wednesday

Welcome back you all! I always manage to miss blogging even on my "off" days. The Atlanta weather has been absolutely paralyzing this week. Fortunately, I managed to muster up a special look for this week's edition of "WIW."
Yesterday, the scuba crop from Alexander Wang's collaboration with H&M graced my mailbox and I couldn't wait to flaunt it. In case you didn't know, the highly anticipated line dropped on November 6th and instantly sold out online.
Luckily, I was able to snag the one piece that I wanted via the H&M app. The crop is super comfy and is made of a very unique material. My greatest obstacle was deciding what to pair the top up with. After plenty of mixing, I took the chillest route (per usual) and merged the top with my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans and tall boots.

My Friday Favorite, Teyana Taylor's "VII"

The most anticipated day of the week has finally surfaced and I am elated. Yesterday, Billboard announced, "Teyana Taylor's "VII" album has debuted as No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums." Congrats Tey!
Therefore, this week's Friday Favorite is Teyana Taylor's spectacular new album, "VII." The album debuted Nov.4th from Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music through Def Jam Recordings. Last week, I ran across a tweet about Taylor's album and decided to get hip. By listening to the album, it sounds like Taylor has established a new sense of confidence, both as a woman and an upcoming artist. The sultry singer reveals details about heartbreak, success, and even intimacy. "VII" is a mellow mix of timeless R&B that I have been anticipating for quite some time. If you haven't heard the album yet, you're certainly missing out!

No worries, you can hear it via Spotify below:

What-I-Wore Wednesday

Happy Wednesday to you all...

In order to liven things up a bit, I decided to feature a new theme on the blog called "What I Wore Wednesday."
(disclaimer) Although it would be ideal for me to create outstanding looks each Wednesday, the outfit may be from an earlier day of the week. For instance, yesterday I aimed for a sleek look that correlated with the unpredictable Atlanta weather. Even though I had to occasionally remove my jacket due to the wavering heat, I thoroughly enjoyed this look.

Tip: On those unpredictable weather days, dress light & always carry a jacket jic

Must-Have Monday: The H&M Coat of Conduct

Must-Have Monday: The H&M Coat of Conduct

H&M threw me for a crucial loop this weekend as I browsed the internet with hopes of finding a temporary coat until the winter kicks in. For a fashion fanatic like me, it was terribly difficult to pick only one. Luckily, H&M carries an array of affordable coats for the season. Therefore, I won't be bankrupt whenever I decide to choose one. In order to narrow my picks down to one, I had to hone in on my own personal style. Check out some of my favorites on the next page:

Finale of the Fall Wardrobe Series

My fashion frenzy has finally come to an unwelcomed end.
To conclude the Fall Wardrobe Series, I decided to girl it up a bit with a chill sweater dress. My parents decided to treat me to lunch, so I actually have a reason to get dressed today! Anywho, my dress is by Eliza J, boots are BCBG, and the hat is borrowed from my mom (so she thinks)

Moral of the story, create cute comfortable looks this season! Although it's the Fall, sweater dresses can serve as a comfy alternative as opposed to a hoodie & sweats.

Don't forget to stay warm! Being sick definitely isn't in style.

The Fall Wardrobe Series; Pt.4

It's that time of the Wardrobe week where I can't help but feel melancholy! Sadly, The Wardrobe Series is meeting its chic conclusion. No worries, we'll go out with a bang.

Today's look is definitely my favorite! I had so much fun coordinating this ensemble. I even found myself getting a bit carried away and decided to feature a second option. The more the merrier, right?
I adore this sweater! It's actually from H&M, a shop smart steal for 9$. The Braves tee was thrifted awhile ago. The skirt, from last fall, is from Forever XXI. The knee highs are from Urban, and the boots are from H&M.

Although I wasn't headed anywhere in particular (per usual), I still decided to have some fun by accentuating my look with the plaid skirt. This Fall, play around with prints! So many great prints are trending which include houndstooth and peacock. Pick a pattern that reflects your personality and make a statement. Oh, and don't forget to get a bomb pic for Instagram.

The Fall Wardrobe Series; Pt.3

 Welcome back you all!
They say that good things come in three's so you're in for a treat today! Today's look could probably function as one of the chillest ensembles from the series. It was also super warm & comfortable, which is an automatic win in my book.
I decided to go for a layered look by rocking yet another 'vintage' item, a sweater from Sears. Yes, you heard correctly Sears. The sweater was actually a gift from a family member and it's one of my faves. My 'feel good denim' aka jeans are from H&M. The boots are from Urban Outfitters which I purchased for a mere steal of $20 over the summer, *brushes off shoulders.* The leather jacket, also purchased over the summer for $20, is from H&M. The flannel around my waist was thrifted. Laaastly, my hat..well..you already know!

Moral of the story? shop smart! Items that aren't in season are typically priced lower. This gives you an opportunity to make bomb purchases and create great looks. Just thank me later when you develop that sweet feeling of shopper satisfaction.

The Fall Wardrobe Series; Pt. 2

Welcome back! Hopefully you're as ready as I am for the second look from the Fall Wardrobe Series. As a lover of all things fashion, I believe that it's important to occasionally step outside of your clothing comfort zone by trying new looks. Therefore, I decided to take my own advice and aimed for a look that was chic enough to be urban. I achieved this look by pairing up a sweatshirt with pumps, pretty simple right? As I was scrambling through my closet, I immediately fell back in love with my "Haters" pullover and its gold writing. Although the pullover felt a bit vintage, it still managed to accentuate my look which I can appreciate. The pencil skirt is one of my absolute faves. It's comfortable yet versatile enough to be worn with business attire. The pumps, which were featured yesterday are an absolute staple piece. Lastly, my hat.. is my hat. Anyone who knows me knows how I am about that hat. *inserts crying emoji* Moral of the story, find use in your old apparel! You might be in for a trendy treat.

The Fall Wardrobe Series; Pt. 1

If you ask me, the media has been practically buzzing each day with news about model Kim Kardashian-West. Whether she's sporting an opulent ensemble, splurging on baby North, or loving hubby West, she's always the trending topic (must be nice.) So, in the spirit of her stardom, I decided to duplicate one of her many amazing looks to rock at my university's coronation ball.
Talk about pressure!

The Summer Wardrobe Series; Final Look

Looks like our journey has come to an end :(
But don't worry I have more in store for the blog. Plus, I'm running out of outfits! *yikes* I am so grateful that you all tuned in. The final look from my Summer Wardrobe Series is by far my favorite! It's super chill and minimal. I was actually headed to a friend's birthday party which was located outdoors. Initially, I was a little skeptical because this heat has been pretty killer. Some may call it crazy but my "leotard" is actually a swimsuit. I have yet to find a pool to raid so I decided to rock it as a top. I paired the it up with my comfy boyfriend jeans and a pair of booties. Later that night I threw on a flannel and converted my daytime fit to a night look. Convenient right?

LA Hearts Strap Back One Piece $29.95

Forever XXI Distressed Boyfriend Jeans $27.80

Peep Toe Booties $39.95

Hope you enjoyed my Summer Wardrobe Series!
Stay Tuned for Must-Have Monday.

The Summer Wardrobe Series; Part Five

It's Fridaaaay! finally *breathes sigh of relief* This has been quite a week. I'm so ready to catch up on sleep and some weekend sales. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to wear the outfit pictured above due to the inclemate weather..but I still got my sushi that day. My top, from Motel Rocks is so comfy and I love that it has a wrap element to it. My shorts, from Forever XXI are sort of ancient to me. I purchased them last summer and this is my second time wearing them. For some reason it's a little difficult to coordinate outfits with them, weird right? Anywho, I decided to top my look off with a pair of sleek ankle strap heels which are also very comfortable and convenient. Of course I threw in my fav hat to add a little flavor to the look. Hopefully I'll be able to wear this ensemble one day..but until then,
Have a bomb weekend!

Motel Wrap Plunge Neck Crop Top $46

Watercolor Shorts $20
Ankle Strap Sandals $21

Hope you enjoyed
Stay tuned for tomorrow's look, the FINAL look from my Summer Wardrobe Series!

The Summer Wardrobe Series; Part Four

"Oh Friday, where art thou?" says the exhausted blogger who can barely keep up with the date at this point..
Happy Thursday to you all. I hope that this week has been treating you well. As The Summer Wardrobe Series begins to come to an unwanted end, I can't help but feel a little melancholy. Who knew that I actually owned articles of clothing besides my favorite black hat and a pair of easy jeans?! Moving right along, today's look was for a lunch date with a couple of friends. I am totally obsessing over bralettes at the moment. They're so adorable! And of course you can never go wrong with a pencil skirt. Lastly, I topped my look off with a pair of sandal like heels from Charlotte Russe (Don't sleep on their shoes!) As you may/may not be able to tell by now..I rarely wear jewelry and I'm not too picky about accessorizing. Weird right? Minimalism is key to me. And I rarely have time to throw on anything else..

Here's a breakdown of my look:

Purple Long Line Triangle Bra $24

Silence + Noise Pencil Skirt $20

Lace-Up Cut-Out Single Strap Heel $38.50
Looove these shoes.

Hope you enjoyed ♥
Stay tuned for tomorrow's look!
